About Staraya Amber McKinstry

Staraya finds grace in all forms. She started her journey as a dancer, gradually evolving her body and Self awareness through yoga and meditation. Staraya’s initial exploration into yoga was at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Heath, where she acquired her 200 RYT under the guidance of Brahmani Liebman and Jashoda Edmunds. She then furthered her studies at Kripalu in order to obtain her 500 RYT, Ayurveda Yoga Specialist and Ayurvedic Counselor Certifications. In order to deepen her knowledge, Staraya attended the world-renowned Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, NM under the guidance of Dr. Vasant Lad, Maria Garre, Nomi Gallo and Jennifer Ayres, where she earned her Ayurvedic Health Practitioner Certification. After school she was blessed with the opportunity to be a key instructor for Passion Yoga for 5 years, 1 year in Indianapolis and 4 years in Costa Rica. Staraya loves the science behind Ayurveda and enjoys the creativity that yoga allows. The vastness of these applied principals keeps Staraya a student first, and the roll of the teacher is a result of her urge for learning. She has found that the combination of both practices gives the opportunity to dive deeper in order to restore balance and strength. Her classes strive for a connection to the Universe, the body, and the breath, while exploring a blend of yoga styles with grace and flow.
