Dinesh Gyawali, BAMS, PhD is a classically trained Ayurvedic Physician(Vaidya) and NAMA certified “Ayurvedic Doctor (AD)”. He earned his BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) from Tribhuvan University, Nepal in 2006 followed by a master’s in medical Anthropolpgy from the same institution in 2012. With a post graduate diploma in Social Health and Counseling from Macaquarie University, NSW, Australia, Dr. Gyawali earned the best research award for his outstanding PhD dissertation at MIU in the year 2017. Beloved by his students, Dr. Gyawali is also a recipient of “Excellence in Assessment Faculty Award” for three consecutive years from 2017 till 2019.
With over 2 decades of experience in Ayurveda practice, education and research in countries like India, Nepal, Australia and the US, Dr. Gyawali is an eloquent speaker and true example of a ‘modern day healer’. An advocate of “Evidence-based Ayurveda”, Dr. Gyawali has published multiple peer reviewed articles in national and international publications. Dr. Gyawali has been featured as speaker in various forum of Ayurveda and Integrative medicine globally. He is one of the board of directors of National Ayurvedic Medical Association (NAMA) and an past-board member of National Ayurvedic Medical Association Accreditation Council (NAMAAC).
Personal Details
Born and raised in a Vedic Brahmin family in the Himalayas of Nepal.Belongs to the family of Purohits (Vedic Priests) who perform Vedic Yagyas, chants, Astrology and other Vedic rituals. The last name "Gyawali" derived from terms : "Yagya" + "Wali"= GyawaliDevoted his life to Ayurveda at a very early age. Travelled across the globe in preaching and teaching Ayurveda and is in the US since 2013.
Fun Facts about Vd. Gyawali
Vaidyas father is a great scholar of Vedas ad Vedic Sciences and an expert Jyotishi. Vd. Gyawali's Vedic Astrology Chart (Jyotish Chart), made by his own father, explicitly mentions that he'd be a Vaidya when he grows up. Vaidya is fluent in English, Nepali, Hindi, & Sanskrit. Vaidya is a proud father of a 6 year old son, who is not only a great artist but also chants Vedic Mantras. Vaidya loves to cook and serve healthy, Ayurvedic food.

Though fairly versed in Ayurveda from early childhood, formally started Ayurveda School in 2001. Worked at Patanjali Yogpeeth Haridwar, Patanjali Ayurveda Kathmandu till 2010. Joined Government of Nepal, Department of Ayurveda in 2010 and served as chief Ayurveda doctor at District Health Center and Naradevi Ayurveda Hospital.Joined faculty of Maharishi Ayurveda in Maharishi International University, Fairfield, Iowa, USA and serving till date.Worked in Maharishi Ayurveda Integrative Wellness Center, Fairfield, Iowa from 2013- till 2019.Worked in John C. Fremont HealthCared District, Mariposa, California as Health Education Consultant till from 2019-2020. Working as Adj. Assistant Professor of Ayurveda in Maharishi International University
