About Katie Ziem

While traveling through India many years ago I was intrigued by the integration of health of the body and health of the mind through a vast spiritual, herbal, sensory, dietary and yogic approach. I, myself had been fighting an infection that I had picked up in New Zealand. This infection wasn’t responding to the usual antibiotic treatment and I stumbled upon an Ayurvedic doctor. He looked at me, took my pulse, looked at my tongue, asked many questions and then handed me a vile of very small pellets to take internally.

Within a few days I was well and in disbelief. I continued my travels around India staying in monasteries and ashrams, practicing yoga, listening to philosophy and eating a very balanced diet. I had never felt so light, open hearted and healthy.

I came home, back to the US, and attended an Ayurvedic workshop. I kept up with my own yoga practice for sometime but over time forgot about the wholeness I felt. I had reverted to old dietary patterns and a day to day routine that lacked a whole mind and body health. Over time I eased back into old habits and life moved on. I started to experience many ailments: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, hormone imbalances, anxiety, digestive upset, depression, weight gain and weight loss.

A conversation with a friend up on a mountain top hit me… I was reminded of how wonderful I had once felt and how I wanted to feel that again. I found the California College of Ayurveda and began my studies under Dr. Marc Halpern. I have also attended workshops with Dr. Lad and am a professional member of the National Ayurvedic Medical Association.

Never had a bad experience here in over a year. The staff is friendly and helpful. I am very patient though and never overly rushed when running errands. Lots of selection for packages and fun stamps.

The folks at this post office are great and they work really hard. The people leaving bad reviews here must not be familiar with our area. You have to address your packages properly, if you fail to do so, the Post Office can't help you. Too many ignorant people blaming the Postal Service and the postal workers for their own incompetence.

I sent Valentine cards to my grandchildren...regular cards not thick already with a stamp. To be certain I didn’t need more postage I asked the dark haired postal person at new PO if I needed another stamp. She felt and felt the cards then said you need to send as a box which then cost me $5.50 extra for one card and $7.50 more for the other. It was going first class Jackson to Boise Idaho. The cards were never seen until 9 days later for one card and the other at 10 days later, which had been opened, the $$ stolen and packing taped back together!!! Did that happen here after the postal woman felt the card and thought it might contain $) which I will never do again. Never trust our Postal People whi are obviously thieves!!!!

We've had a PO box here for 7+ months and have never had a problem with getting packages delivered on time - or stolen. The workers are friendly and polite. Lines get long around holidays, but that's to be expected.
