Tender Coconut Payasam


Tender Coconut Payasam

Dosha benefits: Pitta

Ingredients:

  • Tender coconut pulp 1 cup
  • Water 1 cup
  • Coconut or Almond Milk 500 ml
  • Sugar to taste
  • Cardamom powder 1/2 tsp

Recipe:

  • Scrape off tender coconut pulp.
  • Add water to the pulp and cook over low flame until it becomes soft and the water evaporates.
  • Boil Coconut or Almont milk over low flame.
  • While boiling, keep stirring the milk.
  • When one-fourth of its quantity is reduced, add sugar and keep stirring.
  • Boil until it reduces to half of its quantity.
  • Now add the cooked tender coconut pulp and keep stirring.
  • Take out from the flame after two minutes.
  • Add cardamom powder and mix well.

Ayurveda Tip:

  • Not suitable for people having diabetes, high cholesterol levels or overweight.
