Tila Kshiram: Understanding its Significance

Dosha benefits: Vata

Ingredients:

  • Sesame seeds 2 tsp
  • Water 2 cups
  • Milk ½ cup (substitute with coconut or almond milk for vegans)
  • Palm sugar 2 tsp

Recipe:

  • Add 2 cups of water to 2 spoons of sesame seeds. 
  • Boil it in low flame and reduce the volume of water to ½ cup
  • Filter the decoction of sesame seeds. 
  • Add hot milk to it. 
  • Add palm sugar and mix well. 
  • Serve hot.

Ayurveda Tip:

  • Sesame drinks are good to drink during the change of seasons, when ojas or immunity can become depleted.
